Rick and Bubba at the Tax Day Tea Party

I was very pleased at the turn out in my part of the country. It was good to see people of all ages, especially children and young adults. We need to keep the momentum of this day moving forward into the 2010 elections and send a real message.

The Texas Secession Movement

I think I need to create a whole new section on my blog for information on this movement. I’d like to not only keep myself informed but also be able to inform others. Most of what I have been finding has come to me via Twitter replies to some of my own tweets. Then I started rattling cages amongst my Facebook friends. I think I may have stirred a sense of fear up in one of liberal friends. Although, I can’t see how if Texas did secede that it would effect him.

I have been following a candidate running for governor, but I need to try and pick up on a much broader view. What do most Texan’s think of this idea? What planning is being thought through if Texan were to do this? I have a feeling I will come up with many more questions before all is said and done.

So I will continue to Google and even look for some Texas newspapers to read. I don’t see this country turning itself around anytime soon, too many people seem to like having the government tell them how to live.
