A number of people I have talked with seem to think the tax break that President Obama plans to enact will be great for everyone and will stimulate the economy. They seem to think that $13 a week will do a world of good, putting millions back into the economy. I see problems with this idea.
First of all, people have become too scared to spend money, so I suspect the extra $13 a week won’t get spent. If $13 a week is good, wouldn’t $100 a week be better? Sorry, I went off on a tangent.
Here is my challenge to all of you who think this is just a great idea – why not go ahead and start spending that $13 a week right now? Consider it your part in stimulating the economy and helping out those who have lost jobs. If I follow your line of thinking, the sooner we start doing this, the better. You are not having to spend as much on gas now, so you should already have the extra cash. Grab some fast food, go to a movie, buy yourself a little something. Not spending money, is why so many people are now unemployed.
Well, there could be other reasons, like the $4 plus a gallon gas or the increase in the minimum wage, but we won’t go there. We need to get out and spend a little.
“$13 a week” huh? Exactly how many movie tickets does that buy in your area? That will pay for ONE adult here. Fast food? That’s not 2 meals I normally get at Wendy’s. Consider it one adult at Golden Corral.
Perhaps that “$13 a week” would mean something if the price of groceries, other taxes, health care and other items were not increasing much more than the “$13 a week”?
Sales tax went up. Property tax increased. The cost of my physical required for my licenses went up. Vehicle license plates increased. DirecTV bill went up. Cell phone taxes increased as well. So, just because a claim of some federal politician that they are not going to charge me “$13 a week” does not mean they are finding other ways to take that “$13 a week” and then some…
It would seem that you have missed the whole point of this post. There are idiots out there that seem to think that Comrade Obama’s tax cuts will stimulate the economy and put people back to work. My answer back to these government educated moron’s is that if they think $13 a week will save the world, then why wait for a tax cut? Start doing it now.

When they get finished it is still a myth. Claim they give you “$13 a week” but in reality take much more.
